About the Designer

Miri did not arrive at interior design in a typical fashion. Raised in a close Moroccan family in Israel, the sun-washed weather and her mother’s gracious hospitality helped forge her family-centric style. She grew up in a simple household, filled with friends and relatives where every meal was beautifully presented. Details mattered, but so did generosity and warmth.

With a great interest in people, she studied Social Studies before getting married and emigrating to the States. Two children later, the unthinkable happened. An electrical fire caused serious damage to her house. As she recreated the English Tudor house, in nine months, in an elegant fashion, friends began to request interior design help. After completing her degree in Interior Design, she began tres joli design.

Now—with six children and a growing number of grandchildren—Miri continues to design classic, rich, detailed home interiors full of carefully chosen materials that never look staged. Versatile combinations of high style and old world sensibilities, her designs lend an elegant ease to home interiors and evoke spaces that adapt from family dinners to large gatherings. By embodying beauty and family into her work, she captures a spirituality that gives each home a soul. Specializing in single family homes on Chicago’s north side and near suburbs, requests continue to come in from satisfied clients and referrals.
