This Israeli penthouse may tower above Jerusalem's burnished brown landscape, but once it envelops you, it welcomes you home. An understated neutral palette emphasizes the magnificent view, with relaxing hues to make this vacation respite a haven.
Miri worked in collaboration with a wonderful local Israeli designer, Sari Gurstein, who is in tune with the area trends and preferences. Fluid floor-to-ceiling drapes soften hard edges while a herringbone floor adds interest throughout the open space. A clean ring of uplight illuminates the living room softly and intricate brass panels serve to divide the continuous floor plan and set the stage for the entryway. Distinctive, Italian lighting of crystal, metal and marble provides a flourish to the rooms. A European open-plan kitchen includes a modern family lounge. Each of the four bedrooms is on-suite while the guestroom has its own private wing. The ultimate master bedroom has an exclusive balcony, bespoke bronzed glass closets, and leads to the luxury master bath. A true spa experience, the master bath has a steam shower, brass accents, and a stunning background of ceramic marbled walls that showcase the magnificent veining. Important to the family was a wall storage and library unit, in a veneer of deep browns, for storage of dishes and trays for entertaining. This project’s subtle beauty is meant to be a gathering place with the space and layout to invite vacationing family in for the holidays.
